Exciting News for this year’s Star Search!!!The event will be live-streamed through the partnership of the Clay County Fair, Folio 2.0 and Evans Media Group. Upwards of 250,000 potential viewers.
There will be two age categories divided in the following manner:
Youth – Ages 14
& Under
Adult – Ages 15 &
Up
No more than 10 acts per division.
All entrants will be required to send in a video for pre-screening. Any backing tracks will need to be provided via email upon acceptance into the Star Search.
All acts will schedule a 15-minute time slot on a designated day to shoot a promo for advertising purposes.
We have raised the bar on our prize packages.
Awards will be handed out for each age category as follows:
In addition to cash award of $150 , winners will also receive a feature story interview and professional photo shoot with Folio Weekly 2.0.
Prizes for each division:
1st Place:
Cash prize of $100 provided by the CCFA
Photo session by FOLIO
Large feature in FOLIO/hard copy & digital media
Recording session (details TBD)
Full EPK
2nd Place:
Cash prize of $75 provided by the CCFA
Photo session by FOLIO
Half page feature in FOLIO/hard copy & digital media
Recording session (details TBD)
3rd Place:
Cash prize of $50 provided by the CCFA
Photo session by FOLIO
Half page feature in FOLIO/hard copy & digital media
Contestants will be judged on Overall Talent, Stage Presence, Entertainment Value, Originality, and Appearance.
Rules & Regulations:
- Talent or act must be appropriate for all audiences (any act containing inappropriate content will be disqualified).
- For 1st place winners in any division – you cannot compete in that same division the following year.
- The judges’ decision is final and not negotiable. Score sheets will not be released to the contestants or the public.
- Acts must be self-contained. A complete sound system with two microphones will be available. However, no instrument amplifiers will be provided; therefore, you must bring them if you need them. CDs may be used as accompaniment for acts.
- ALL ACTS ARE LIMITED TO 4 MINUTES OR LESS IN LENGTH
- Absolutely no props allowed (musical instruments are not considered props).
- No lip-sync acts.
- Sorry, no bands may perform due to the amount of time required for set-up.
- All contestants are responsible for their own gate admissions.
- The last day to register is Monday, April 1, 2024 or until divisions are full (whichever comes first).
